Sherri Reno

Purchasing Manager

Sherri initially worked part-time at Jim Taylor Inc. (Taylor Roofing) in 1973, then went full-time in 1977. In 2014 she transitioned to a part-time employee


In this capacity, Sherri helps coordinate the company’s vast inventory, and orders materials for each of our active job sites. Sherri single-handedly developed an in-house tracking system for invoicing clients for materials received, and updating them on the progress of work being done on their facility.

Catherine Taylor Yank

CEO

In 1969, when many of her peers were going to Woodstock, Catherine Taylor Yank was beginning her career in the roofing business. Today, at the helm of Jim Taylor Inc., aka Taylor Roofing, she continues to guide the company along the path of excellence, recognized by some of the largest roofing products manufacturers in the country (Firestone and Carlisle SynTec), as well as the Southern Illinois Builder’s Association, The St. Louis Business Journal, and the National Association of Women in Construction. 


Catherine possesses a Bachelor’s degree from Southern Illinois University, Edwardsville and a MBA from St. Louis University, MO. She was the first woman to be named Outstanding Woman in Construction by Arizona State University’s Department of Construction and the Greater Phoenix Chapter of the National Association of Women in Construction. She has been recognized by the American Society of Professional Estimators as the 1994 National Estimator of the Year, and as a Fellow Certified Professional Estimator, has completed several terms on the ASPE Board of Trustees.


In addition to her professional accolades, Catherine's community service has been acknowledged with the Carl L. Schweinfurth Rotarian of the Year in 2000. She served Rotary International District 6510 as Governor in 2005-06, and remains active with the O’Fallon Sunrise, Illinois Rotary Club. She is also the current vice-chair of the Friends of St. Elizabeth’s Hospital, Belleville, Illinois.


Jim Taylor Inc., aka Taylor Roofing, received the Mississippi Valley Business of the Year for 1998 from the Family Business Forum at Southern Illinois University. This, among other awards and distinctions, just goes to prove that no matter how large or how small the job is, you can always count on Jim Taylor Inc. (Taylor Roofing) to get it done with care and dedication, with our owner leading by example of our commitment to quality in products and services, and fairness in all dealings with customers, suppliers and employees.

Julia Yank

President

As President Julia will oversee and implement the strategic vision of providing quality roofing services in a safe, honest, ethical and professional manner. She will continue to maintain long-term partnerships with our customers and suppliers and work to develop new relationships and identify new target market segments. Before joining the Jim Taylor team she worked in various roles in sales, management, and business development. 


Julia played Division 1 soccer and graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree in International Business with a minor in Spanish from Southwest Missouri State University. She is a charter member of the Rotary Club of St. Clair County Sunset in O’Fallon, IL and enjoys traveling and spending time with friends and her Blue Heeler Podunk.

Wayne Kniepkamp

Chief Financial Officer

Wayne is the Chief Financial Officer of Jim Taylor, Inc. (Taylor Roofing). He oversees all accounting, financial, information technology, and risk management functions within the organization. The small business environment enables Wayne to directly contribute to the success of the company in a variety of other ways as well.


Wayne attended Southern Illinois University and passed the examination and fulfilled all other requirements to be registered as a Certified Public Accountant. Prior to joining the Taylor Roofing team in 2009, Wayne held financial leadership positions for several companies in Southwestern Illinois.


Wayne is involved with his church and when he’s not spoiling his two grandchildren, you can find him outdoors hunting, fishing, cycling, riding horses, or scuba diving.

Kenny Walthes

Director of Operations

Kenny started his roofing career in 2005. He joined Jim Taylor, Inc. (Taylor Roofing) in 2008 as a roofing apprentice. His expertise and knowledge working with a wide variety of roofing systems and applications was universally recognized by our team and clients. He is comfortable with wide variety of project types and locations and has a broad skill set which enhances our teams, customers and suppliers experience. Recognizing his contributions he was promoted to foreman in 2010 and to superintendent in 2018. As superintendent Kenny is responsible for leading our foremen and teams fostering safety, teamwork and discipline for an efficient and professional roof system installation. 


Kenny enjoys spending time with his wife and three children; he also enjoys two kinds of hunting wild game and antiques.

Tim Atwood

Estimator

Tim’s history with Jim Taylor Inc. (Taylor Roofing) dates back to 1997 when he joined the pre-apprentice program. He followed that up with the apprentice program through journeyman, then moved on to job foreman in the Repair and Maintenance Division. When Joe Perez was promoted to Senior Estimator in 2011, Tim was appointed to head the Maintenance & Emergency Repair Division. In addition to supervising repair crews and performing estimates for smaller repair and reroof jobs, Tim oversees our 24 Hour Emergency Roof Repair Service.


Working with repeat customers and making new contacts in the field are two of the things that motivate Tim the most. With the constant evolution and changing in roofing materials and techniques, Tim keeps apprised of current technology by attending various roofing seminars and product round tables. His extensive, hands-on experience provides our customers with invaluable roofing solutions.


Tim and his wife, Crystal, have three boys, and as a family they enjoy camping, golf, just about all sports, music and video games.

Andy Warner

Estimator

Andy started his roofing career in 1998 and worked for various local organizations before coming aboard the Taylor Roofing team in 2003. He was promoted to Foreman in 2007 and supervised several projects including EPDM, TPO, BUR, as well as Live Roof Systems. He maintains OSHA, CPR, First Aid, Forklift and Heavy Equipment Operations certifications. Andy was promoted and joined the estimating team in April of 2019 and took over the repair and maintenance program in November 2019. He will work closely with our senior leaders to become a valuable addition to the department for years to come. 


When Andy is not working, he enjoys spending quality time with his son Logan. He is also a fan of the St. Louis Blues, Cardinals as well as Professional Wrestling.
